Reaching Canada and the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Meet our pastors
Pastors Phil and Jamie Hutchings lead a church committed to biblical truth, passionate worship, and the moving of the Holy Spirit.
Pastors Phil and Jamie Hutchings are the founding pastors of Higher Life Church in Quispamsis, New Brunswick. With a passion to see people encounter the life-changing power of Jesus Christ, they have devoted their lives to preaching the Gospel, raising up strong believers, and seeing Canada impacted by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Since launching Higher Life Church, they have watched God transform countless lives through salvations, healing, discipleship, and community outreach, while building a church committed to biblical truth, passionate worship, and the moving of the Holy Spirit.
In 2021, during the COVID-19 restrictions, Pastor Phil made national headlines after choosing to continue gathering the church for worship in obedience to his convictions regarding religious freedom. His stand ultimately resulted in seven days in jail, including time in solitary confinement. That season strengthened their resolve to boldly preach the Gospel and defend the freedom of the Church in Canada.
Today, together with their three children—Summer, Rowan, and Victoria—they continue to champion revival, biblical values, and the hope found in Jesus Christ. Their vision extends beyond one congregation as they work to see healthy churches planted, leaders equipped, and communities reached throughout Atlantic Canada and beyond.
“Help people know Jesus, experience His power, and live the abundant life He promised.”

The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance.
The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the doctrine of sanctification as a definite yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation.
The angels said, “This same Jesus…shall so come in like manner…” His coming is imminent. When He comes, the dead in Christ shall rise first, then those who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them to meet the Lord. Following the tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and reign with His saints for a thousand years.
The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire, and therefore has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal, and the terms “eternal” and “everlasting” carry the meaning of endless existence.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, is accepted as the infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.
Our God is one but is manifested in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—being co-equal. God the Father is the Source of the Word and the Begetter. The Holy Spirit proceeds from both the Father and the Son and is eternal.
Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God. Salvation is the gift of God, made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The new birth is necessary to all men, and when fulfilled, it produces eternal life.
Baptism in water by immersion is a direct commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

For ministers + churches
A Canadian, Spirit-filled fellowship united in doctrine, power, and purpose—without control or bureaucracy.
Higher Life Pentecostal Fellowship exists to bring together pastors, ministers, and churches who desire meaningful connection, encouragement, and kingdom partnership while maintaining their full independence.
Every church and ministry remains self-governing, led by its own pastors and leadership, while choosing to walk in fellowship with like-minded, Spirit-filled ministers who share a passion for revival, soul-winning, the Holy Ghost, biblical authority, and strong Pentecostal faith.
Through ministry relationships, revival meetings, leadership training, guest speakers, practical resources, prayer, fellowship, and collaboration, the aim is simple: to come alongside ministers and churches with encouragement, strength, and genuine relationship.
Two expressions of connection, both grounded in voluntary fellowship and local church autonomy.
Independent churches and ministers with access to fellowship, encouragement, ministry relationships, leadership resources, training, revival meetings, and connection—without formal oversight.
A deeper level of relationship, accountability, partnership, and ministry collaboration built over time through trust and proven connection.

Give your life to Jesus today
Your past can be forgiven. You can become a child of God and begin a brand-new life with Christ.
Every one of us has sinned. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin separates us from God and leaves us guilty, broken, and unable to save ourselves.
The good news is that God loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to do what you could never do. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life, died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins, and rose from the dead three days later. He is alive today and offers forgiveness, peace, a brand-new life, and the promise of eternal life to everyone who believes in Him.
Salvation is not earned by being a good person, attending church, or doing enough good works. It is a free gift received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Today, you can leave your past behind. Your sins can be forgiven. You can become a child of God and begin a brand-new life with Christ.
If you sincerely prayed that prayer and believed it in your heart, the Bible says you have been forgiven and made new in Christ.
We would love to celebrate with you, pray for you, and help you take your next steps in your new walk with Jesus.

Higher Life Academy
A Christ-centered learning community built on respect, accountability, and partnership with families — equipping the next generation to know Jesus and live it well.
Learners at our ACADEMY are expected to contribute to a respectful, focused, and positive learning environment. Each student plays an important role in maintaining the standard of excellence within the ACADEMY.
The ACADEMY is committed to helping learners grow in both character and responsibility. When expectations are not met, a four-step behavior tracking process will be used to provide guidance and correction.
A kind, clear reminder of the expectation — bringing the learner back into focus and giving them a fresh chance to succeed.
Temporary removal from the situation or activity to de-escalate and reset — protecting the learning environment for everyone.
A conversation to address behavior and encourage understanding — meeting the learner where they are and pointing them forward.
A meeting involving the learner, parents, and ACADEMY staff to align on next steps and reinforce shared expectations.
This process is designed to support growth, encourage accountability, and maintain a positive learning environment for all.
At our ACADEMY, we believe that education is most effective when families and staff work together in partnership. While the ACADEMY provides the primary structure and instruction for learning, parents play a vital role in reinforcing and supporting their child’s success.
By enrolling your child, you agree to the following responsibilities:
We value your partnership and commitment to creating a positive, respectful, and productive educational experience for every student at our ACADEMY.
The ACADEMY stands on the same biblical foundation as our church. Open any belief to read its supporting references and full summary.
